I have been looking into Türkiye as a possible travel destination and was surprised by how much there is to see beyond Istanbul. The country offers a good mix of history, food, nature, and different types of travel experiences.
Istanbul seems like a great starting point for a first visit. Places such as Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, and the Bosphorus can easily fill several days. Cappadocia is another interesting option because of its valleys, cave formations, and famous hot-air-balloon experiences.
For travelers who enjoy history, Ephesus and Pamukkale are worth considering, while Antalya and the Mediterranean coast are better suited to those looking for beaches and a slower pace. Turkish food is another reason to visit, with kebabs, pide, gözleme, meze, Turkish breakfast, and baklava being some popular choices.
One thing I would recommend doing before booking flights is checking the Turkey visa requirements for your nationality. Depending on your passport, you may need a Turkey tourist visa or may be eligible for a Turkey eVisa. Travelers can check the Turkey visa online process : https://evisa.govn.tr/official/en-us/apply.php
