I'm planning to pursue a Urology Fellowship and wanted to hear from doctors who have already completed one or are currently undergoing training. I've heard that Urology is a highly practical specialty, and I'm curious about how challenging the fellowship actually is.

Is the difficulty mainly because of the surgical procedures, or is managing patients equally demanding? How steep is the learning curve when it comes to endoscopic techniques, stone management, catheter-related procedures, and emergency urological cases? For someone with a surgical background, does the training become easier over time, or does it require constant practice to build confidence?

I'd also like to know how the workload usually looks. Are fellows expected to handle long hospital hours, night duties, and academic responsibilities at the same time? How do you balance learning with patient care?

Another thing I'm wondering is whether the difficulty depends on the institute or the amount of clinical exposure provided during the fellowship. If you've completed a Urology Fellowship, what was the biggest challenge you faced, and what advice would you give to someone preparing to start? I'd really appreciate honest experiences because they can help new doctors set realistic expectations before applying.
