Yeah - you can - but the key is to make sure the original image has a good enough resolution. When you ask "how big is a photo 4x6" and then think about printing a bigger version - well, if you've got the right resolution, you can easily go up to 5x7, 8x10 or even bigger - as long as you're not trying to push it too far. Looking at Visuals Clipping will give you a better idea of what sort of pixel count you need for bigger prints and how to upscale your images safely. With a bit of care, you should be able to enlarge a 4x6 photo and still end up with a sharp, beautiful-looking print.
